Exhibition 40% IA
Throughout your experience in IBDP Visual Arts, you will create a body of work that is cohesive. Your work should be tied together with a connective thread that is thematic and conceptual.
Your thematic Visual Art Exploration will be presented during Semester 1 of your Junior year. By Semester 2 you will be creating, critiquing, and refining artworks to be placed in your portfolio. As the second semester of your Senior year begins, you will consciously select a body of work to be displayed in your Senior Exhibition.
Students will be creating a cohesive body of work throughout their time in IB Visual Arts, HOWEVER, the selection of images for the Exhibition will differ.
SL: Exhibition of 7 High Quality Artworks.
HL: Exhibition of 11 High Quality Artworks.
Depending on your level, there is a difference in requirements. As your instructor, I will be working with you to choose the most successful works in your portfolio to display for Exhibition. Not all artwork created will necessarily be selected for your Exhibition.
What will be submitted for this portion of your DP Requirements?
1.) A physical Exhibition of a cohesive body of work. Location and time TBD
2.) A Curatorial Rationale that explains the concept behind your show.
3.) Exhibition Text to accompany each piece. (Mini artist's statement)
4.) A minimum of 1 quality photograph of each piece.
5.) 2 Photographs of the overall Exhibition of your work.
