Process Portfolio 40% EA

Your process portfolio should be an organized and aesthetically pleasing compilation of investigations, research, experimentation, material exploration, and reflection.  The way you orchestrate the required components is up to your discretion and style. BUT, the portfolio must contain:

SL: 18 Slides with a minimum of 2 art forms (See Guide for Requirements Pages 20-21 and 32)

HL: 25 Slides with a minimum of 3 art forms (See Guide for Requirements Pages 20-21 and 34)

To make this easier, I will chunk submissions in 4 slide requirements. Each time I ask for PP Slide submission, your presentation should include the following:

1.) A Specific Medium, Subject Matter or Technique you are exploring.

2.) A minimum of 2 artists or artistic cultures/time periods you are referencing in your research. **P.S. you can insert links to websites and videos for the examiner to explore.** Images of you physically visiting work would be acceptable as well.

3.) A documentation of the personal connection those artists/cultures have to the topic/medium you are experimenting with or creating. VERBALIZE IT. Make a connection. Not just a reference.

4.) Your thoughts and goals prior to experimenting with the technique/material.

5.) Process photos that you can reference while…

6.) Discussing the process. What is happening? What is going well? What isn’t going well? What variables have you thrown into the equation to experiment?

7.) Images of unresolved works with the medium/material. Not everything in your PP should be a finished product. IB wants to see that you have experimented with the material before creating a finished product.

8.) A FINISHED PRODUCT OR SUCCESSFUL SOLUTION with the material or technique you are exploring. Do not reference whether or not this is in your Exhibition. (Technically, we aren’t supposed to double dip.) But…show a finished work in the medium/technique that you have created.

9.) Reflections/Revisions. Don’t just create! Go back and refine after communication with others about your work OR once you’ve gained more confidence and skill with the material….show it!

10.) Citation….Cite any research you have conducted. What internet websites have you looked at? What images have you copied and pasted into your slides? The final slide of your PP will be a citation page. Keep a running collection of your citation.
